Our Lenten Programs “[W]e must then strive with all vigilance that the dwelling of our heart be not unworthy of so great a Guest…so must we with unceasing concern take care that nothing disordered be found in our souls, that nothing unclean be found there.”
-St. Leo the Great
Wednesdays in Lent Wednesday Lenten Lunches 12:30pm at SMV (after Mass)
A light meal is provided in Parish Hall after Mass. We ask only for a love offering that will be donated to a local Catholic charity.
Fridays in Lent Eucharistic Adoration 9:30am to 6:00pm at SMV Jesus asked Peter and the other disciples, “Could you not watch with me one hour?” Responding to our Lord’s invitation, we spend every Friday with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in adoration and prayer. This is a perfect opportunity to draw near to Jesus in prayer, reflection, and penitence.
Friday Devotion 6:30pm at SMV
Join us every Friday in Lent for Stations of the Cross followed by Supper, Meditation, and Benediction. Our supper is pot-luck, so please bring something meatless to share. Our Lenten talks this year, given by Fr. Joshua, are collectively titled, “The First Fruits of Eternal Glory: Humor, Joy, Truth, and Laughter in the Spiritual Life.” Our program normally ends by 9:00pm.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation and other penitential practices are especially appropriate during the season of Lent. Everyone is exhorted to make use of this great Sacrament.
This Sacrament is available on Wednesdays at 11:00am and Saturdays at 9:00am or by appointment.
