With the return of summer soon (both with the calendar date and the weather patterns), it’s time for another edition of “Ordinariate Observances” - helpful reminders that I like to share a few times a year.
Today is known as “Good Shepherd Sunday” because in each year of the liturgical cycle (on this 4th Sunday) the Gospel is always taken from the 10th chapter of John where Jesus speaks of himself as the “Good Shepherd.”
Please consider whether you might be interested in joining these volunteers and fellow parishioners in activities such as the Altar Guild, the Altar Servers, the Choirs, the Flower Guild, the Garden Guild, the Knights of Columbus, the San Lorenzo Meal Train, the Ushers, and others. In a growing parish like ours, many hands make light work!
Our Liturgical celebration for today, Divine Mercy Sunday, reflects the devotional elements of Divine Mercy—We no longer look for Jesus among the dead, for He is alive and has become the Lord of Life.
